Scoring rubric

Last updated 2026

For the full published rules (squads, tiers, objections, and more), see Rules in brief.

Politiplay is an attention-and-events scoring game. You draft real public figures; you score when scored moments are published during a Sweep.

What can score

  • Moments sourced from reputable outlets and logged by editors.
  • Each moment is tied to a figure and assigned a point value.
  • Your Sweep roster locks when you join; only locked picks score for that Sweep.

How points are assigned

  • Points reflect impact, relevance, and clarity of attribution to the figure.
  • Positive and negative attention can both score; the sign is defined per moment.
  • Duplicate stories and reprints are de-weighted or excluded.

For disputes, tie-breaks, and appeals, see Fairness & adjudication.
